Clare Island Lighthouse

Located just 3.5 miles off the Mayo coast, this nautical landmark offers an unparalleled vantage point overlooking Achill, Westport, and the Atlantic. The lighthouse was decommissioned in 1965 and is situated at the northern tip of the island.  The site is defined by its “cinematic coastal vistas” and the raw, rugged beauty of the Irish West.

Once a safe haven for sailors this heritage property is a complex of buildings which have been restored offering guest accommodation in 6 bedrooms decorated in keeping with the style of the lighthouse each room intact with antique open fireplaces or stoves.

This unique location offers breathtaking views over the landscape and the sea.  The wild rugged beauty of the island setting captures the romantic spirit of rural Ireland, offering a compelling backdrop central to stories of resilience and the sea with cinematic coastal vistas
