National Museum of Ireland – Turlough Park
Located 8 kms east of Castlebar and set in the beautiful grounds of Turlough Park the National Museum of Ireland, Turlough Park showcases how our ancestors lived their daily lives.
The museum is a unique architectural design, and the small demesne is home to Turlough Park House, a fine example of High Victorian Gothic architecture, set amidst 30 acres of spectacular gardens, parkland and woodland.
The Victorian gardens are maintained to a high standard and have consistently received the Green Flag, an international mark of quality for parks and green spaces as well as offering a man-made lake and islands and an award-winning woodland adventure playground.
