Turin Castle

Located 12km from Ballinrobe this is a restored 13th-Century Norman stronghold which was built by the Burke Clan and meticulously restored in the 1990s.

It offers a blend of medieval atmosphere with vaulted ceilings, stone fireplaces and antique furnishings for a castle experience while also offering modern comforts, including guest accommodation. The heart of the castle features a 20-foot barrel-vaulted ceiling, a massive stone fireplace, and a 17th-century oak banquet table.  The fourth floor features a magnificent hand-crafted trussed roof and is decorated with tapestries and period antiques, offering a rich, noble atmosphere.  There is even a hidden ladder behind a bookcase leading to a secret chamber.

On 16 acres of rich pastureland the castle provides exclusive opportunities for filming with a classic square-tower silhouette and thick stone walls, offering total seclusion and 360-degree exterior shooting angles for production.
