Emer Durcan, co-founder of Western Front Studios, is a regional film producer with a strong track record across short and feature films. Based in Westport, Co. Mayo, she is deeply committed to building sustainable, high-end scripted drama production and supporting talent in the west of Ireland. A graduate of TUD’s Advanced Producers Course, she won the 2025 EDA Producers Award in partnership with CPI and Screen Ireland.
Her credits include Collision for Storyland (RTÉ Player). She produced the Virgin Media Discovers short Night Driver, which premiered at DIFF and is now available on Disney+ and the Virgin Media Player. She also produced the Screen Ireland Focus short Magic Markers, which premiered at Cork International Film Festival. Remote Strutting, winner of the Árdan / RTE Film Bursary, after a stunning top tier festival run including many wins, now sits on the RTE Player and can be viewed on Aer Lingus Flights.
Emer participated in the Shadow Producer initiative with The National Talent Academy, contributing to the Virgin Media series, Faithless. She was part of the winning team of Film Offaly and Árdan/RTÉ bursaries and produced A Simple Killing and Remote Strutting, which screened at Raindance, Newport Beach, Galway Film Fleadh, Aesthetica and Foyle Film Festival. Additionally, she produced pick-ups for the feature Woken (Dir. Alan Friel), with Night Driver, Remote Strutting and Horseback securing distribution with Network Ireland Television.
